Richard Orlinski is a French sculptor. He was born in Paris in 1966. He studied at the National Fine Arts School in Neuilly-sur-Seine, and then chose to devote to sculpture.
He now explores the medium of sculpture using industrial materials he enlivens with references of the Pop Art movement that has nourished his childhood and has never stopped improving his work. His preferred materials are resin and aluminum used according to the foundry process. His art is far from the conventions, but close to his time. Richard Orlinski is in the range of these artists who claim an actual art which, through industrial means, wants to create works asking questions about perception codes in our consuming society. Following a logical of demultiplication and repetition, he condemns the logic of the series production in the cultural industry.
From his preferred object, the croco, to more rigorous works, Richard Orlinski offers a panorama of what the Contemporary Art can present. Question the perception of the society in front of the Contemporary Art by creating works which play on different levels : a visual impact, a popular iconography, the notion of human instinct, and at the same time revisit the Art History.
So much ways to underline the question of the impact of the Contemporary Art on the public space and the perception of the publics, art collectors or uninitiated.
